Description
Painter IX, wacom tablet, about 25 hours total (?) over the space of 4 days. Probably more hours than that total, but what the heck, who's counting
I wanted to use ONLY artistis oils for this, NO blender brushes (ie my beloved smear tool was only used on a few of the twigs top left and a tiny bit on the beak. Other than that this is only blended with the oil brushes themselves). The reason for that is I want to learn better control over how the colours are blending as I paint. I'm hoping this will speed up the painting process, and also I'm finding that using the smear/blender gives a very static feel to the finished work. Which is ok sometimes, but sometimes not okay.
I KNOW I can figure this out eventually. It's quite challenging, though.
Anyway, this is painted mainly with the soft blender artists oil brush and the sz 5 detail brush in artist oil (mainly used that for the leaves on the background trees)
Edited 23/8/06 Gaaahhhhh I couldn't take it anymore.....arrrgghh....I had to use the blender brushes, I had to! It was driving me nutso...it looked unfinished and I just couldn't take it anymore
