When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

*Edited August 20, '07....Advice from `lazybutt and here at home said the original posting of this was over blended, and as it was good advice I've been working on this in little bursts for the last couple or three weeks, about an hour a day, so perhaps 20 hours total? This is more practice, but where most of my excercises have been strictly limited to ONE media type in Painter, I've tried to draw together several different techniques and media in one painting, concentrating on those I'm just getting used to using (bristley artist oils, real bristle brush and some oil brushes I haven't really gotten the handle of yet), trying to achieve a cohesive finished product. I'm rather pleased with the finished work, and it was an interesting experience. I have to admit I should have spent more time considering the composition. And the file size/ratio etc...ah, well... I'll post my tiger photo ref in scraps later in case anyone wants to see it Gotta run, the weekend calls |

Very lovely as always. The tiger looks so real.
Hm.. Try resizing? I often work in large canvases and resize in the end. It leaves a lot more room for detail.

NASA spent millions of dollars to create a pen that works in space. Russia used a pencil.
Incidentally, a cheap ballpoint pen works just as well.
